Strange Porcupine Puffer Behavior

Has anyone ever seen a Porcupine Puffer intensionally stick himself to the filter intake and stay there? So far it's not hurting him and the intake for the filter isn't that strong so he can swim away. I just find this to be odd behavior, and have never seen a fish do this before. Did I buy a suicidle fish.? :)
