Strange question??

Hello I have an 8 gallon pico reef and up until now I have been doing only about a 3 gallon water change I am planning on starting 100% water changes. My question is if I do a total waterchane my corals will be exposed to the air, about how much of a safe window of time do I have before I begin to have problems?? It would only take me about 15 minutes? Do you think that would be ok?
Thanks for the advice!!

Most corals can handle a couple hours or so out of water. Many can handle a couple of days.
Sponges cannot.
