strange thing in tank...

OK guys..I woke up this morning was checking over my tank...and i saw a weird thing in my tank.. It is up against the back of my tank..I dont have any pics so i am going to describe it as best as i can. It actually looks like mucus from a person, but its white..it looks kinds slimy. its also kinda looks like a cocoon of some kind. thats the shape of it too. I dont wanna mess with it cause it might be babies or something. Could it be babies? Please let me know! Thanks!!!

and the only fish i have had in my tank are.. a green chromis, blue devil damsel, tomato clown and a yellow tang. So if anybody has any pics of what it looks like when those 4 fish have babies, i will know if it is babies or not

We would need a picture to be sure, but it sounds like some type of sponge to me, harmless they will come and go in your tank.

I will try to get a pic of it..but are sponges slimy? and cocoon like..it also has little round things inside of it.

Sounds like the Sulfar Bacteria i got in my tank during its cycle.... Is it on the rocks?
Peel some of it off if it smells like Sulfar or old eggs thats what it is.... mine is dieing off on its on.

ok..its on the sand. not on rocks...it dosent smell like anything. No rotten eggs..nothing. Im not sure what this thing is..Im trying to get a pic of it gotta wait for my mother in law to bring camera over!

Do a search for Q-tip sponge, see if that is what it looks like.

i agree with Birdy. If it is a Q-Tip, common and harmless filter feeder.
