Strangest thing you have seen happen in your tank

I was just wondering what might have been the strangest thing you have ever seen in your tank. I love my tanks because I learn so much about the life in them just by having them. Some things that I have seen have been quite interesting, but recently my brittle star split from the center into five seperate arms. I thought it was done for, but when I fed the tank each arm acted as an independent living being. It was like something from a horror film to watch but really phenomenal. Right now that is the strangest thing I have seen in my tank.....

Our pulsing Xenia's, when they are really happy, they start to spin when they go to close, it's really pretty to see, all the little feathery tops spinning. :3

Sooo.. What is the giant gross centipead guy?..
Bobbit worm, not fun that one was over 2 feet long and they have been caught in public aquariums up to 10 feet I believe. They will decimate your corals. I actually wanted to keep this guy in his own tank but I had to break the rock he was in to get him out and accidentally chopped him up, but atleast he was out of my reef.

I once had a large volitans try to eat my spiny boxfish, and the thing inflated in the lionfish's mouth. They were stuck together, and I had to remove the fish from the tank and pry the puffer out using a clam knife. The lion lived another 3 years, the puffer 2 years.

Hi,

This little story is about a freshwater tank. Years ago I had two 30g long tanks on a metal stand one beneath the other. One day I came home from work, the top tank was half empty and the bottom tank was overfull, to the very rim, if a fish moved too fast it splashed water over.

I originally thought I had a leak and the top tank had drained into the bottom tank…However when I filled the top tank, no leak at all. I checked the pumps, maybe it was to blame, no all was fine and working properly. Nothing, no reason for a leak at all. The fish in the bottom tank would die, the ones on top got ich.

Three months go by, and I came home and it happened again, the top tank was exactly ½ full and the bottom tank totally over filled. Again I checked everything, nothing was leaking.

This went on for a year, out of the blue for no reason sometimes weeks and sometimes months apart, the top tank would be down and the bottom over full. The fish would get sick with ich, and I was constantly losing the bottom fish whenever it happened, they just died.

The mystery was finally solved when I went to move. My landlord, an old lady came bounding down the steps, she lived upstairs. She nearly fell she was rushing so fast…”Don’t toss out the fish water, they are so good for my berries!” Turns out this little old lady was sneaking into my apartment when I was at work and stealing my fish tank water. She was too frail to refill the top tank but she filled the bottom one just fine with tap water not treated for chlorine, hence why the fish in the bottom tank were dying.

curious puffer got his head stuck in a maxima clam. He was no longer curious after that.
LOL...I have seen pics of fish trapped by clams. My citron goby sits right in the center of my Derasa....I was just telling my husband about some of the pics I have seen with fish stuck....I figure the goby must not be bothering it, or surely it would close on it

LOL....How the heck did she get in Flower??
Hi,

She had a key, she was my landlord, she planted strawberries in the back yard..LOL It was 25 years ago and I have not gotten over that nut yet. I can still hear her old lady shrill...about how good my water was for her berries. I had stopped keeping tropical fish and had gone to just keeping two goldfish in each tank because the fish kept getting ich and the ones in the bottom tank were dying, and I had no idea how the top one kept leaking..
