Stress Coat:
Every time a fish is netted or handled its protective slime coating is disturbed, causing a loss of essential electrolytes through the skin. This leads to suppression of the immune system. Stress Coat replaces the slime coat and treats damaged tissue with the proven healing properties of Aloe Vera.
In addition, Stress Coat removes chlorine, neutralizes chloramines, and detoxifies heavy metals.

We did use this product.......Seems to work good I think

IMO I would not use the Stress Coat; it works great for freshwater fish, but not for saltwater. Like magic said, it will create tons of bubbles. Also, you shouldn't have any chlorine or heavy metals in your water if you aren't putting tap water into your tank.
As for the Stress Zyme, I don't think it's necessary, but I also don't think it will hurt anything. Also, freshwater bacteria and saltwater bacteria are not all the same.

Definitely leave out the Stress Coat. I used Kent's Pro-Tech Coat (a different form of stress coat) and when I used it, I turned off my skimmer for a day. I used it in a very minimal portion for my one stressed fish (because my qt was not fully cycled yet) and when I turned my skimmer back on, the skimmer foamed and filled my collection cup with foam every 1/2 hour for 3 days. It was CRAZY!
If you are looking for something along the lines of Stress Zyme, use Cycle. I put it into my aquarium every time I done a water change and it has given me excellent results so far. Stress Zyme just does not work as well, in my opinion.

Hey, Leona. I agree with those guys. I wouldn't put that in my main tank because it definitely makes the skimmer go crazy. Before I bought the rodi unit, I was using Seachem prime to condition the water, which also does all the same stuff that the Stresscoat does but doesn't make your skimmer go crazy. It also restores the coat on fish. If you're using a qt, I don't think you really have to worry about it too much because the slime coat will naturally restore itself to normal, pretty quick if the fish was not over-handled. Although, it's still good to keep a small bottle of that Prime stuff around because it helps neutralize ammonia and medicine if need be in a pinch. HTH.
