stringy/ web film like

Ok, i have this thing in my tank and i have no clue what it is. Its like stringy film like or web like. Its almost look like slime. what is it? they are on my leather and all around my other corals

when i touch, move my corals some let off the same thing.
Have you moved or touched them???

yes, yesterday i had to rearranged my tank. but this thing has been there for weeks. some days aren't as noticable as other days

I have a toadstool that makes a kind of cacoon at night. i think its prolly similar to that only stress induced, but im far from and expert

hmm i looked into this a while back and if i remember the stringy slime that floats from corals are gametes or spermadies i cant remember which one, but thats how corals spread. the strings of gametes attatch to protein and float away landing somewhere else, kind of like seeds on a dandelion...

except im pretty sure its not sperm but actual fertalized gamates.
