You guys are helping Slack ruin pretty much every thread. If everyone would stop giving him attention, I GUARANTEE he would go away. He finds all this fun how everyone constantly bashes him. He's become the legend here of bad fish keeping and he actually likes it. He likes the attention. So until everyone just ignores his posts, this will continue. Which is too bad because he's ruined the agressive fish forum.

I think you should definitely give us some advice on what you are feeding. What do you normally use. It obviously is working really well.

Does your puffer actually eat the algae?! lol. Mine will come over, and bite it all off and chew it up and spit it out = makes it easy for my tangs!

okaay. about twice a week a give hime a big sheet of algae and let him chomp away. I also give hi mabout 6 of the big krill. And sometimes silverslides. (for a lil snack) He doesnt really eat the other little food my other fish eat, however, if he is still hungry he will eat some of the bigger brine shrimp...

Just curious, do all striped dogface puffers get that yellow as they get older? I've never seen one this yellow before. Very nice looking fish!

I hate to say it but Slack actually has a point here. It has to be mentioned that a 9" puffer should not be in a 75 gallon tank.
However it's pretty hard to bash the OP. He is not arguiing that this fish needs a bigger tank. In fact he's acknowleged that issue and intends to remedy the problem.
So rather than beat the dead horse, I'll just say that this is a very impressive speciment you have there. Good luck.

I saw a pic of a quite large striped dogface in the wild. Wasn't yellow though. I think this fella is just unique.

imo the puffer inactivity makes it a good canidate for smaller tanks, i would be more worried about the waterquality going down and the tang getting ich. that said looks great. keep the water quality up and the variety of food up and u should be fine.

I have a 7" lined puffer. He is not yellow at all. I wonder if that is just the light affecting the lense? I've had him for a year and a half. I got him when he was about 4". His diet is mainly algae. He has a favorite rock that he keeps bare. One word of caution, my puffer ignored my CBS for 3 months, then Sunday, there was nothing but the tip of the nose and antennae left. If your dads tank has inverts, they WILL be food eventually. Also, I wouldn't worry one second about ich with the lined puffer, I had a massive ich outbreak last October that wiped out a Naso tang, yellow tang and a keyhole angel. It killed them in a day and a half. The puffer was covered with ich and after about a week, nothing. He never lost his appetite and stayed active the whole time. If all lined puffers are as tough as mine, there is nothing to fear with ich.
