Stupid Body Scanner....

I was treated to a full body scan compliments of the TSA today (I have absolutely no issue with doing this). My issue is the way in which people are selected. The first group of people are those that fail the metal detector (perfect...after their body scan send them for a strip search so they can learn to pass the metal detector and keep the line going). The second group appeared to be the people (myself included) who accidentally wander into that line. I complied and had no issues, but my question is how is this averting attacks? It seemed as though the only people going through the scanner were women and children.

Nope, and I also found it odd that the first class passengers just got the metal detector and not the scanner. Just seems like preferential treatment to me.
