Stupid Question About Ro Filter

My RO (just replaced filter carterage) and it is running extremely slow (about 1 drop per 2 seconds-or about 1/2 gallon after all night). Am I supposed to take the plastic cover (film) off the outside of it? Thanks for any help

WOW, REALLY? So the yellow thin plastic cover comes off? Just want to make sure, since the filter cost me $60. Thanks.

Can anyone else tell me that I am suposed to take off the yellow (10gpd) or yellow (24gpd) plastic wrap on the RO filter carterage? Thanks.

Yes if it is just a thin film plastic . it just keeps the filter from drying out
