stupid question....bought a background

I have a black background sitting around, I dont know how to put it on. I thought it have a clear sheet that you just peel on and it sticks on the glass...if it does, I cant get it off...
how do you put a background on...tape?

I put a background on my 75 gallon. I trimmed it and slid it under the plastic rim on the top and bottom and then I used a clear duct tape to seal it on. I also put the tape down each side to keep water and salt from getting between the glass and background. I've had it set up for a year now with no problems.
I'm not putting a background on my 180. I painted the walls with a sponge to have a very different look. I'm excited to see what it will look like when it's set up. If I don't like it, I bought one of the backgrounds you apply with soapy water and a squeegie.
