Stupid Question But.......

WELL,
a while ago i posted some problems. one well i couldnt help after like 5 months my hood and lights to my 29 gal bio cube went bazerk. so my corals really were suffering. also i have TUNS of hair algie. i took someones advise and got a lawnmower blenny. HE IS SOOOO CUTE!!!! i see him eating here and there but he caint eat it fast enough....lol. ill give him some time but ok here is the dumb question.....i never put a heater in my tank. it was always warm enough. but now we have LOTS of snow on the ground and i bought one today. what temp should i have it at. before it stayd at like 77 is like 81 ok? what is too hot? will this make the hair algie go even more bazerk? i did get a theromiter that has a temp gauge so thats cool. thanks everyone for the help. soon maybie i can post some pic.

i have my heater set to 79 and keep it in the back... itonly comes on during the night and early morning...the day temp is 81. the blenny should cure the hair algae...give him some time

I wouldn't say that 81 degrees is ideal...however, most will agree that as long as the temperature remains consistent (i.e., not 72 at night and 84 during the day when the lights are on) you should be fine.
