Stupid ??

I recently bousght a true percula clown and had been told they do not exceed a length of 3 to 3.5 in. but I was just on a web site that said that the true percula grow to a lenght of 7 to 7.5 in. So I guess my question is which is right if either is

I have had "true" percs for years and the biggest any of mine got was a whopping 3&1/2" wow a jumbo (ha ha)that was in a 120 gal reef tank....
