I smoke, I know dirty habit... anyway I wash my hands with soap and VERY hot water rinse before putting my hands in my tanks is this enough or is there something else I can do. I try not to put my hands in but sometimes it's unavoidable, coral fell, placing zoos and the like. What do you think? I bought the gloves but they are hugh on me I have small hands and they make it impossible for me to do anything in there as I have small tanks.

HAHAHA :hilarious if it were just that easy. Good for you though, wish i could do it that easy. 15 years and still smoking :scared: . Any way make a paste of backing soda and ro/di water and use it to clean your hands and arms. Backing soda will neutralize and chemicals on your skin, yet leave no residue to possibly cause harm or foul water chemistry. I have been using this type paste for years with no problems.

I like this idea best.
However, sharkbait's idea sounds good too. I would not use soap.
Quitting would probably be the best thing for you though. In my opinion, everything happens for a reason in life. Maybe you were meant to be in the saltwater hobby so that you would quit smoking and be a healthier person.

Thank you for all the responses, I have smoked for over 20 years. I have tried gum, patches,

[hr]
(3 kinds) inhaler (2 kinds) hypnosis (twice) I have not tried the "just put them down" as I love most of the people in my life and wouldn't know where to hide the bodies lol But til I can quit for good I will try the baking soda. Thank you.

I use the baking soda also.
On a side note, I quit smoking the first time by using welbutrin(same active ingredient as zyban, used welbutrin because insurance covered it) and I had no withdrawls at all!
I started smoking again about 8 months later and after 6 months of smoking I put them down again, this time cold turkey and haven't smoked for almost 2 years.
You won't quit until you really want to.

Not true. I REALLY didn't want to but the wife MADE me when we had our daughter. No matter how bad the urge is, you wont smoke if you know you're getting "sniffed" down when you walk in the door and have to deal with an angry, sleep deprived new mother.

You could always stop smoking and start chewing your tabacco.
At least the throwing up would take your mind of the cravings.
