Has anyone used these to light up their refugium. I know some of the underwater strands are relatively inexpensive.
I am just looking to have a bit of algae and a few pieces of live rock in there. No sand or mud.
Thanks

is there a reason for you wanting to use the LEDs? room maybe. if not Id just go with the regular lights, just in case it didnt work that way you wouldnt be wasting the money

Unless you are going for effect, I'd stick with regular lights.
First, the less submersed electrical equipment, the better.
Second, plants are used to being lit from above.. not sure what would happen if you turned things around.
From a cost perspective, a simple clamp-light and a 6500K daylight CFL lamp from Home Depot forms a fine fuge light for less than $20 total. It's what I use and I have no problems.
