Submersible Pump Suggestions

I also put this in new hobbyist section. Putting in new refugium/sump and need new pump. 90 gl tank, the sump will be 35 gallon. will have an octupus nw110 protein skimmer in sump. Tank has overflow box, U tube type of overflow. The overflow has a one 1 inch outlet to sump. What would be a good submersible pump to put in sump for return. I will have about a 4 ft. lift up to top of tank also. My current set up has a 400gph return pump with a HOB remora protein skimmer. When I remove the HOB skimmer I will lose that flow to tank so I probably need to increase my sump pump flow or add another powerhead. Suggestions from you guys please. Thanks Rick

I always prefer to use powerheads to increase the flow in the tank, as it increases flexibility as a whole.
For your pump, I'd recommend a Mag 7, or a Mag 9.5 with a ball valve on the output to dial it back a little. You may also need the valve on the 7, depending on specifics of your system.
