Substitute For Calcium Additives

I have heard from a local reef enthusiast that they have had success substituting Pickling Lime diluted with water in place of any Calcium Additive. They said it essentially contains the same ingredients as most Calcium Additives, which in turns saves the reef hobyist money as well as providing convenience since Pickling Lime can be purchased at Local Grocery Stores. Now my question is, Is there any truth to this?? And if so what is the proper ratio of Pickling Lime to Water?? Please dispell any rumors or ensure me that I can successfully substitute this without any reprocussions. Thankyou,
Stro

Wow I certainly can't dispute this seeing how kalkwasser is also called lime water but the natural acidity of citrus fruit may cause problems. Next time you do a water change save some and add the lime juice and monitor the water conditions. This also might be a good way of batteling unwanted algae.
