Substrate Question

Hi all,
I have had my 125g running now for 6 months. I started out with 120 lbs. of the CaribSea Arag-Alive Fiji pink sand and over the last couple of months have been fighting a brown algae in the sand which I have been vaccuming out each week with my water changes. I need to add some sand back to the tank and I am wondering if I should just add the dry aragonite instead of the "live" sand. Will this keep me from having a possible mini-cycle? Also, what is the best way to add the sand without causing too much havoc in the aquarium? Thanks for any suggestions.

125 gallon? Add dead sand.save your money,a bag wont cause a cycle in that large of a tank. Some people use a large diameter PVC tube and pour the sand down the tube to add it to the tank.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I need to add about 40 lbs. I guess i will add about 10 lbs per week to not cause so much trouble or would you suggest adding it all at once? I think I am going to try the PVC as well.
