:thinking: ok guys, hello! I have sitting b4 me an empty 100 gal tank. Not for long, however. I want a sand bottom, deep enough for burrowing fish and critters but not too deep...any suggestions on depth?? my tank is 18 inches tall, and 2 ft wide by 4ft and some odd inches long. also how many lbs of sand will be enough??:thinking: Thanx 4 any help in advance!!

2 inch depth = 100 lbs of sand
3 inch depth = 150 lbs of sand

thanks guys. but how deep of a bed do u think would b sufficient for burrowing critters and fish??

2 inch is fine in my tank. the burrowers burrow and the fish make dunes up to 3 and a half inches. any more and i think it wouldn't be properly shifted thus a buildup.
