HELLO!
Im new to inverts. Ive been doing some research on crabs and snails. And i seem a bit partial to Cerith Snails and Scarlet Hermit Crabs.
Just want to make sure this is going to be ok? And how many i would need in a 55 US gallon (30 UK gallon)
Or any other suggestions on YOUR favourite crabs and snails.
Thanks!

those two are great. you can also consider turbo snails, margarita snails, nerite snails, red/blue legged hermits, and zebra hermits.
i like 1 invert for every 2-3 gallon. other people have more.

I like the turbos and ceriths myself.......Usually go for the blue legged hermits, not overly fond of any of the other crabs though..........ANother snail that does well for me, but is rarely seen except at feeding time is the nassarus snail..........usually during daylight its buried in the sand bed, only ever see tham at night or within minutes appearing like jackals after i feed.

My crabs and snails:
Blue-legged hermits
Astrea Snails
Nassarius Snails - they are fast movers
Cerith Snails - good sand mixers
I have a 90 gal system with about 200 snails and 75-100 hermit crabs.
The snails keep having babies and that's why I have so many.

So a mixture of snails is usually good then?
Im a bit put off the turbo snails cos i read they're clumbsy with their shells and can knock stuff over.
Im also cautious of the blue legged crabs as i read they can kill your snails. The scarlets are much nicer sparently :p Then again, if they're gonna have babies i might need them to kill some! lol
