I have a 12 gal aqua pod and I too had put in the stripeless ocellaris clownfish (the
[hr]
clownfish )! The only problem I have had is that they are very dependent on other clownfish. When I first put him in my tank, he didn't do much except follow his reflection, and it didn't eat for a few days until I got a reg. occ. clown. And from that day on it seems as though one clown will be doing fine, but the other wouldn't. The unfortunate happens next (a dead fish)! I feel as though clownfish are a type of species that need alot of tank in order to survive!
I would recomend a midas blenny (a small one b/c they can get pretty long), and I know that when others read this they will completely disagree on my next choice! A yellowtail damsel! Many feel the damsels are a poor choice for a nano tank because of aggression, but the yellowtail damsels are the species in the damsel family that are the least agressive and the least to give you touble! My damsel is a great eater, is a beautiful addition, and has a really odd swimming pattern that I haven't seen with too many other fish. I love my tellowtail damsel and my midas blenny. They are both AWESOME, and get alot really well!!!!
CORALS!!!!! -I currently have..
-A starburst polyp coral which is a real eye catcher. It flows really well.
-A group of green striped metalic mushrooms.
-A pulsing xenia (They are really beautiful but I DO NOT recomend it b/c they grow like weeds! And also I didn't know this but when I purchased it from my LFS- they left out one really BIG detail- and that was DO NOT put it anywhere near your glass or other rocks b/c it will super glue itself to what ever it touches!!!!!- So now mine is growing on my other rock and will continue to do so unless you kill it or try to scrape it off which will damage it leading to it dying eventually!)
-A bubble coral (really neat to look at and at night its like it becomes another coral altogether- I deflates and shows its mouth and its sweeping tentacles!
-Frogspawn coral- another beautiful coral. Start off with e rather smaller one b/c they can get rather large if they like your tank!
Inverts-I currently have!!!!
- Emerald crab (Every once and a while you can get a bad one that may try to eat your corals -mine doesn't)
-Double star starfish (its all white will a yellow star in the middle. Very noticable in the tank!
-Margarita snails (stay small and b/c their shells are so small they won't knock over any of your live rock)!
- Fighting conch
Blue legged hermit crabs (they will not eat or harm your corals like scarlent hermit crabs will do)
-Fancy nassarius snails (A really cool addition- will immedeantly be one of your favorites)
- Fire shrimp & cleaner shrimp
Any of the above listed are GREAT nano tank additions -I wouldn't recomennd all of they b/c you have such a small tank but a few would be a good choice if I say so myself!!!
