They sold me these as I was asking if everyone was compatable. I have also been told NO RETURS ON SW FISHES. Now the lfs told me that everyone in my tank would eat brine shrimp and since I find out there is practically no nutritional value, I started processing my own fishy food (using the recipe in one of the threads posted by beth) My lionfish is rather small though and I don't beleive anyone else is small enough for him to eat, and he has'nt tried thus far. I know I've made some mistakes (thank you lfs
) But I am stuck with what I have, so I want to do my best to try to keep them healthy.
Now mikeyjer, you say you hope I am feeding my urchin and starfish. Is there something else I need to feed them? I have seen the urchin eat some of the brine as well as my homemade frozen stuff.
The anemones eat everyday, they eat like little piggies. Sometimes I am afraid they don't save any for the fishes! Lion, Damsels and nemo eat well too. I have noticed the mandarin does'nt seem to be eating, is there some type of supplement I could give him? My shrimp is big, and eats all the time.
So basicly, what should I do for my Star, Urchin, and Mandarin. I do know I need more LR, and plan to get more this week. I was thinking another 30lbs? Iam not going to add anymore fishes, but maybe a couple more snails?
Let your LFS know what is being said about your tank. Ask him if he would trade your fish in for something else. You need to spot feed your star with meaty foods like mysis shrimp, krill, squid, etc. You can feed algae sheets for those inverts, they'll pick off whatever the fish don't eat. Try feeding frozen foods like formula 2, marine cuisine, etc. I would try to feed the mandarin to see if he would eat frozen food, a local reefer feeds his frozen food and it does just fine, a very fat mandarin!!! If he doesn't accept it, you really need to try to find someone to take it. If he dies, he can pollute your whole tank and end up killing everyone cause once he stresses out or dies, he'll release toxins within your tank. If your going to add more rock, add them slowly, try to get well cured live rock to add to your tank. For me, I really would take all those stuffs back that I mentioned before or find someone to give'em to. Good Luck! :happyfish
