suggestions please: tankmates for a ribbon eel?

hello all,
I am open for suggestions on tankmates for my black ribbon eel! I've had the eel for over a year now in a 110 gallon tank. Everyone who reads this please give me some ideas on suitable tank mates. All responses are appreciated!

What I want to know is how di you get the eel to eat, I was told that 99% of them die.

when I got him over a year ago, I just started trying various types of foods (guppies, feeder goldfish, Calamari, silversides, etc.) I feed him all of the above every other day.
I have had 0 problems so far. (Knock on wood!)
We change about 20% of the water every three months.

Hey sharkguy, what fish store do you go to? I notice you live in Northern california, Im asking because im sort of having a hard time finding a decent store in my area. Thx.
