Suicidal Puffer!!!

Last week I added a white spotted sharpnose puffer to my 50g tank. He eats krill once a day and has adapted well to my tank. The problem was last night when I turned off the light he jumped out of the tank through a hole about 1" by 1". I never thought that puffers would be jumpers. My water is normal and there are no other inhabitants in the tank. Will he eventually stop trying to jump out?

The puffer is doing much better now. It took me a while to get the water checked and the ammonia was a little high so i did a 25% water change and he's not jumping out anymore. Thanks for the help.:happyfish
