Got a pick of this tank? Seems like it could be a little sketchy to me. I mean I'm sure it could be done but I would think your cuts have to be pretty precise and wondering what tool you would cut it with. Thinking a table saw would be the best bet. Is the tank euro braced?
it had a center brace but blew out. im guessing it needed some better bracing. I have a table saw and access to alot of other tools. Ill get a pic on here tomorrow cause its still in the back of my bronco.

No worries, that's all I was curious about was the bracing. I don't know, maybe I'm just not picturing it in my head on how you would be able to cut it and fit it all back together and ensuring good joints. Seems like it would be best to build from scratch if you're looking for specific dimensions. Now if you were to dice the whole thing up I could easily see shaving off some length and width. But you might cut yourself short on the height that way.

If it was braced on top, I would cut the top off just below the welded seam. Then I would make all the other cots to shorten it to your exact means. A table saw can be used and or for a cleaner cut you could use a router table to make your cuts. Yes building from scratch would be easier.

was gonna use it mainly cause it would save lots of money from what i've seen on acrylic prices. I don't know what this guy used for glue cause the top brace broke loose when the tank blew out i guess. gonna unload the tank at noon so pics to come shortly after. If acrylic was cheaper i would just do the full build and have it just like i want and use this one for "parts" or i may scavenge some off this and buy enough for the side walls being the base is larger than i need. The biggest problem is that all the local or within 60 miles plastic places carry farm plastics only that i have found.

Sounds like the tank was under braced to begin with, especially if it was thin material. What is the thickness of the acrylic? If it busted once before then you're probably going to want to brace it better than the last guy did, even if you do take a little bit off of the length and width.

tank looks ugly at the moment but thats because it was setting behind this guys house and it was full of dirt and stuff
you can see the brace that he had used laying over to the right of the pic

here is a better pic of the blown out end
