Sump Build: Traditional Tank vs. Rubbermaid?

Thanks for the additional replies, guys.
Addicted4Life: I had considered the possibility of building an acrylic sump from scratch, but for the purposes of this thread (at least when it started), I was thinking of a sump of the pre-made variety. But when you really think about it, no sump -- if it starts out as either an aquarium or a rubbermaid -- never really starts out as truly 'pre-made.' Each has to undergo significant modifications, add-on, etc. to make them sump-ready. I'd like to know more about your build; do you have a diary on the forums? If so, please post a link. I know exactly zero about working with acrylic.
Kilted: Great, simple and relatively cost-effective solution to address the issue of micro-bubbles in this type of set up. Thanks for posting this. ...and great diagram, by the way! Makes perfect sense.
