WeldOn 4 is a specific solvent for acrylic........Acrylic is easily cut using a circular saw, jig saw, router or table saw. I personally use a table saw to make my inital cuts, and then use my router and router table to get perfectly clean edges.....Lowes and HD carry plexi not acrylic in my area, and regardless of what some people will tell you there is a difference between the materials.
Cost of materials vary depending on size and thickness your after....For a small sump your planning you could use 1/4" material and be fine. Prices will fluctuate. You can google acrylic and through your searches you will find places you can get your pieces cut and shipped to you.

Putting a rim "eurobracing" would b a definite IMHO. Plexi would be fine, more a personal choice though. I would still buy my material from a plastics dealer over HD or Lowes.

How expensive is acrylic?
I'll look locally. I just don't want to spend tons of money on the acrylic.
Because I can get the two tanks for under $30.
