overflow, skimmer, and return are up and running but i can't seem to find that sweet spot for stabilization. i ended up putting the return pump in the 3rd section of the 20 gallon tank, behind 2 baffles. skimmer is dumping into the 2nd compartment by way of 2 pvc pipes. if the return pump (mag 7) isn't taking out too much water it's not taking out enough. same thing with the skimmer. i modified the hose coming from the overflow into the skimmer area to a smaller gauge and i'm thinking maybe if i increase the flow of water in by connecting a larger hose instead of the smaller one that maybe it will help balance things out. (?) any tricks of the trade would be greatly appreciated, i really don't want to end up burning up a pump while i'm at work.
