Sump/Fuge Size

I'm planning on having a 120G tank and i was wondering how big would the sump and fuge will have to be (gallon wise)? Also I'm gonna drill the acryllic tank (2 out/2 in) and i was wondering on the out tubes to the tank, how should i make it so that it doesn't suck fish in? How tall should it be? Like how many inches past the sand level........
This hobby rocks, and building your own stuff gives you an even better feeling................
Any other hints on what i should do and avoid............

This does probably belong in the DIY forum but I will answer it as best I can.
As far as sump/fuge size. As big as will fit under your tank. Especially the refugium (which should be plumed seperate to the sump). The sump really only holds the skimmer, heater and return pump. You want your refugium as large as possible. It may help you to do a search on sumps and refugiums to get an idea on good layouts.
You can drill holes and put in bulkhead fittings (they make strainers that will keep your fish out). Or you could cement in overflow boxes. You also may want to drill holes for a closed loop, IMO that is the best for circulation (no powerheads needed).
If I were you I would go to as many LFS as possible and look at the way tanks are set up and modifiy your tank to fit your wants and needs.

Only mods can move threads, you can post another reply asking them to move it, or just post your question again in the DIY section.
A search on closed loops would give you a lot of answers and pictures. Basically it is an inlet in your tank directly plummed to an external pump then pumped back to your tank. I hope that made sense. Kipass has posted several pictures of his closed loop that are very good.
