hey dogstar. did u make that fuge or did u buy it. if so. where did u get them?
oh yeah. do u have sump or a wet/dry filter too?

A sump is where all your pumps, filters skimmers, and such reside. A fuge is just macro algea. I have my sump and fuge in seperate tanks. I had my fuge in the same tank and the sump area, but corralline algea keeped getting on my pumps, skimmer, and Pinpoint PH Probe. I broke it out into 2 tanks.
I light my fuge on opposite photo period of my display tank to help stablilze my PH.
No pics here at work, but i will post some later if needed.

Hi, Yes I built mine myself.
Most ppl. make their own by putting baffles in a seperat tank or building everything from scrach with acrylic or glass.
Like jer said, ecosystems makes them and Im sure others as well.
I do have a wet dry bioball box built in to mine where the drains go thru them first. I used the box from an old wetdry sump I had.
The pic is a little crowded but you might can get an idea from it.

Tboy,
I use 50/50 sand mixed with ecosystem Mirical mud. Bout 4 in total. Im pleased.
I built mine on the ecosystem design when I was only a year into SW. I realy dont think I would change any thing now but make it bigger/deeper if I could but just limited to space in a cabinet with 5 light ballest and a chiller.
Start it by turning on the pumps and adjusting water levels after everything is set up and in place.
The red is a remora I have from another tank so I might as well use it and the orange is my main skimmer, Berlin classic, the blue is a UV. The four water lines are pumps off, one pump on, two pumps on, minimum water level to work. I like useing two return pumps in case I have to remove one to clean or replace theres still one for some flow.
HTH.

hey Dogstar. I just got fuge done today and wonder what kind of algae (green) do u have in yours. Does it stay on the mud or does it float around.
