Well I finally got my sump put in yesterday. It is a small 10 gal sump on my 55 gal DT. Used an Eshopp overflow box and everything is working great! Put my Chateo in today. Finally able to get my heater, filters and HOB skimmer out of my DT!!!

Did you test it to make sure it is flood safe?
Good Job, and as joe said, can we see pictures?
I will get some pics soon. I have tried it and when I shut the return pump off it gets down to the preset point and stops syphoning and does not overflow the sump. THen when I plug it back in it starts pumping and the overflow starts right up. It is amazing how the overflow box works and doesnt lose it's prime. I really like the setup! I will get pics asap.

The problem I ran into in the past was the mag drive pump line developing a siphon once the power was out. Fixed that, but it surprised me with a 3 gallon mess.

I have the Mag drive also, i did alot of testing before i felt ok to go out of the house. This can be fixed with a one way value they sell on the web.

What kind of lighting cycle should I put on my sump for the chateo? I have heard some people say 24/7 others say on when the tank lights are off. Right now I just put on a timer and have it set for 930pm to 930am which is almost when my tank lights are off with a small overlap.

I don't know if there is a correct answer for this, but I will say that you should run your sump light over night for sure. The constant stream of light helps balance your PH.

If your power goes out do you have anything to setup to stop a siphon developing on your return line? A simple hole drilled at the height of your overflow teeth will accomplish breaking that siphon. I couldn't tell and don't know if your bar would maintain a siphon or not, but I'm assuming you tested it already by unplugging your pump.

My return nozzles are just barely under the water so if it does start to syphon itcan only pull about an inch or less of water, I am also going to look into a one way vlv.
