hi,im getting a sump/fuge for my tank.im putting the sump in the basement because its too big to fit under my stand.my question is how can i install this without draining my tank? i thought i could install a ball valve off the hose coming off the pump and a valve off the return, drill my holes in the floor, run my hoses up to the existing lines.would that work? also,i have a mag 2300 pump on my 125gal right now,im getting a mag 2400 with the new sump i was going to install a pump for both sides of the tank considering the extra head it will have to pump.would that be ok to do?

iwould get the specs on the pump .it should tell you the gallons-per-hour
at specific lengths.measure the distance from where the pump is to the top of the tank.
you might need a bigger pump to get the gph you are looking for.
for every foot in length especially straight up the gph gets reduced greatly.
i would look for just one big pump.but its up to you.

i measured the length, its 12ft.that brings the gph down to 1000 or so.i figured if i had my old pump,i'd just throw it on the other side of my tankjust in case.i also got 5 1100gph powerheads.but powerheads dont do much for filtration!lol.kinda like stiring a toliet bowl full of poop around, doesnt do much good without a good flushing rite?lol.hey, thats for the tips guys.
