Sump Light?

When should I have my sump light on? I'm asking this question because I have been told this by a few people.
Everyone I know personally says the sump light
and aquarium light
should be on at different times. Is this true?

yes and no...Are you asking about your refugium? Cause a sump doesn't need a light. A fuge does? What's in it....My light on my fuge runs from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m.

The idea behind running your fuge light on an opposite schedule is to minimize the flucuation of your PH from day time to night time due to CO2 build up.
I have run my fuge light both on an oposite lighting from my DT and 24/7 and have seen no difference in my PH or growth rate of my macro algae.

Yes the refugium. Everyone I know calls it a sump not refugium. Sry if its not the same thing, dont mean to confuse anyone.
I run my aquarium light from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.
How long should I run my refugium light?
I have LR LS and the weeds(not sure what the name of it is). What is the name of it?

Run the fuge light from 11:45 p.m. to noon...you could do more if you want...
You only run your dt light 6 pm...to 12 a.m.?

Yes bc its a new light and my LFS told me to slowly work up the hours with it on bc of algae outbreaks. My tank is still cycling. I have no fish, just a cleaner crew.
HAHA WEEDS. Yes Chaeto.
How long should I run my DT light? Turn On? Turn Off?

Its a new light that just came out. The brand is Wave Point. 4X54. I am adding moonlights and blue LED Strips lights. Im not sure if Wave Point is a new brand or not, but the light model is new and has alot of good reviews on it.
Actinics?

I run my halides 8 hours a day... my actinics 10 hours a day (hour before and after) and I usually just keep my moon light led's on all the time because I don't have room for another timer

I also keep my light on over my cheato for about 10 hours on my DT (same timer as my actinics) and about 16 hours over the cheato for my frag tank. I run it during the day so I can see what's happening in case something is wrong with the sump.. I really don't care about it it being dark when I'm sleeping and not concerned about the pH swing as I believe it to be minimal and my corals do great the way I have it.
If it works for me, I try not to break it

Yes I have 3 blue bulbs and 1 white. My LFS let me swap the other white for the 3rd blue light I got. I love the blue look more than the white.
So yea I have 3 Actinics. Is 3 blue and 1 white bulb a bad setup? Should I add more bulbs to it? Im adding a LED setup with moonlights as well.

If your keeping coral a single 10k with 3 atinics may not be enough light other than that its your preference.

I agree.. actinics is just supplemental light for the most part -- your coral lighting really comes from your "white" bulbs. 10k is more yellow.... 14k more blueish, 20k whitish blue. I run a single 14k halide on my frag tank and has nice color/growth. I would run half actinics max on a tank personally.

OK...IMO...I would keep the 2 whites...Run the actinics (blue) first in the morning....for a couple of hours...then add the 2 white for 6-8 hours ...then run the actinic 2 hours before bed.....when you get your moonlights...obviously they take over then until the a.m.
