what type of light is best to use in a sump. I have a 20long as my sump but need a light .any help out there

Is it going to be for growing algae like in a refugium?

yes I want to grow some plants to help the tank

I was told a cheap 6500k CFL from walmart will do the trick on the cheap. Thats what I plan on doing when I get mine up and running.
