Im having a problem with tons of bubbles coming out of the tube that goes to my sump from my overflow box. What can I do to make less bubbles besides getting a slower pump? Its making me loose water fast.

Is your tank open? What lighting are you using? I have a 90g tank with a 29g sump with open top on each with 4x65 PC lights and usually have to top off 2-3 gallons every 2 days.

I have a 75gal tank with a normal fish tank lid with 2 4ft flurescent marine bulbs on top. I think my probly is my sump doesnt have a lid or anything in it right now so the bubbles are spitting the water entering the sump into the air. I will go pick up bio balls and im going to make a half of lid to go over my sump so the water will hit the lid and fall back in.

u can get a lid then do a spray bar thing and have the holes facing upwards so the water spills over the sides and splashes less onto the water in the sump...

what I did was put a air pipe on the end of it. It didn't get rid of all the bubbles but cut them down considerably. I am going to try to build a baffle trap soon just haven't done it yet.
Here is one ideas I am going to try.
The one I have now is a tee on the pipe coming into the sump with a pipe coming off the tee going up to allow some of the air our of the pipe. It didn't stop all of it but it doesn't look like a hot tub now either.
