of coarse the pump is making a little heat making the heater to work less.
the whole point is you said the sump with the heaters and pump is warmer than the dt.
it is not i have shown this
so lets look at it this way the pump is just another heater
the dt and sump is practicly the same temp
showing the heaters in the dt dont regulate temp at all different.
Ok let’s look at it this way. If you don’t know what temperature your heaters are set to turn on at, which is what you said. How do you know that there is no difference if the heaters are in the sump or in your DT We are not talking about a constant temperature we are talking about what is the more efficent way of regulating temperature. If your pumps are acting as heaters keeping your tank at a constant. How can we determine where the best place for your heaters in this scientific experiment? Now if I were doing this scientific experiment I would drop a zip lock bag filled with ice cubes in my DT. Note the temp drop and then time to rebound to normal temperatures with my heaters in my sump. Move the heaters to my DT and again drop the Zip lock bags into my DT and note the time. I may be wrong but that may give us an indication on where the better location is. I am also not apposed to being wrong once in a while
