sump question

will this work. I am thinking of taking a center piece of wood out of my stand to make the sump fit. first i will empty all water rock ,then remove this piece of wood here is a pic. tell me what you think.

Yeah it will work, like you said just remove as much of the weight as possible and you'll be fine. Just remember to put it back before you fill the tank.

yea I figured on using a screw with hex head so when i have to get in again it will be easier. thanks

Kreg Jig is a wonder tool to make pocket screw holes. Just about anyone could follow the instructions with success. I have built cabinets for years and I tell you this thing is worth the money. Would make that little project both stronger and easier. .02 free of charge.

I'm interested in your lower shelf there. Is is supported? Maybe a cross brace in the center? I would just hate for you to place a sump in there on a unstable shelf causing you grief later on.

Whats the opening size? You want a 20L for a sump right? Will that go in there diagonally? I'm not trying to impugn your planning ability, just raising questions.

there is a center brace in the cabinet, I have a plywood bottom that comes out. the 20 long just misses going in on a angle. I think I am too close to the wall of the house, plus i want a few more inches behind the tank.
