Ok i am getting ready to go bigger for my tank and just needed some information on sumps. First off my tank sizes, the size i am going to use for the sump is a 30 gallon and my main tank will be 75. I have seen many many different designs on how to make a sump and i was just in the need of some answers. First i heard that i can just part my 30 gallon into 2 different sides. One side would be were the water from the display tank comes in and the other side would be the clean water that will be going back to the display tank. OK now here is my main question can i just use the filtration systems i have no in the sump. I am running a fluval 305 canister and i was going to get another one for the bigger tank. I am also running a protein skimmer which should work fine. So if i put the intake of the filters on the dirty side and the outflow on the clean side will this work. I am planning on running two heaters as well. One on the dirty side and one clean side. Sorry for the novel but i just needed to know if this will work.
