it's not a good deal if the skimmer is junk. what brand skimmer are they putting in this unit?
i can make a 20 gallon sump for about 50-60 dollars. a clip on light from lowes is 10 dollars including the bulb.

seriously? How do you do it? It costs 60 bucks for the tank, the divisions, the overflow, the tubing, the mud/sand, the rubble/lr, the output pump, the lighting, the return, the bulkheads, and the bioballs? Or are you talking JUST the refugium?

my statement is "i can make a sump for 60 bucks"
a 20 gallon tank= 29.99
some plexi from lowes or HD= 20-25
1 tube aquarium silicone= 5 bucks
that is the sump. bio balls aren't necessary if you use live rock for bacteria.
return pumps(i'm sure you want to pick a decent one, that doesn't fail you) are about 50-75 dollars.
as i stated above- a simple clip on light and curly-Q energy saver bulb comes to 10 dollars give or take at HD.
rubble isn't necessary. miracle mud is crap, and a huge waste of money. not necessary.
tubing is by the foot. it varies. it's not expensive.
the "return" is your return pump. what is an "output pump"?
