i am looking at ordering return pump for my sump. anyone ever used a Quiet One pump as a return pump? how good or bad are they? any other recommendations on a reasonably priced return pump are welcomed as well.

I have a little giant on one tank, and an RIO on another. No complaints about either. I have never had a quiet one...

I've never had a quiet one. I've always used Danner pumps... Mag Drive pumps.... Easily buy replacement impellers once every 7 to ten years. Don't ever have to replace the entire pump. :D

I have a quiet 4000 that I used for 2 years and never had issues, still have it. I also just bought a 3000 that I'm running now, and no problems.

Any idea if the Quiet One 4000 would be too much for my sump?
I have a 72gal with megaflow system (All-Glass's drilled-tank overflow kit) installed, which I believe is rated for 600GPH. I'm at about a 5' lift.
It looks like I could go bigger than my 3000 Quiet One (which is OK, to stay on-topic - not as quiet as I wished, but very energy efficient) judging by the flow rate returning to the sump. I don't use powerheads because I don't want to endanger my inverts (plus I've read that many species need low-to-no-flow spots), so I'm concerned that the dual-jet output from the return pump isn't giving me enough water flow. The jets are in the center of the tank, and I've got them aimed at the front-left and back-right corners of the tank. Think upgrading to a 4000 would make the jets too strong (the clownfish occasionally wander into a stream and go flying), or overflow my tank, or is this just what I need to improve my water quality?
What got me on this idea was that the currents around the tank didn't seem to distribute Flatworm eXit sufficiently - even at 2x recommended dosage, a week later the flatworms had returned. But, I'm worried about screwing up what I think is a configuration that works OK!
