Sump to Fuge?

This is what i bought for my sump, it is the Eshopps RS-75, i had to go with this based simply on the fact that i have very little room in my cabinet, Eshopps says the width is 10" and i hope they are spot on otherwise i will have problems, but do you guys think this will work as a simple fuge? that's all i am really looking to use it for, didn't really want a trickle filter with bioballs, i have 100+lbs of LR so i figure i am good on the biological front, but i figure i can add more acrylic panels if necessary, any input would be greatly appreciated :D. Thanks

It doesn't look like you have much room to do a fuge? where are you gonna put your sand and chaeto? the filter sock seems to take up alot of room

that's why i am thinking of putting more acrylic plating in to keep things a little more separated, i wish i had more room under my tank but unfortunately i do not so this is what i have to work with currently :/

I would take the filter sock off so you have that extra room, if you put another baffle in that thing you are not gonna have any room for anything.

how easy is it to extend the inlet pipe? i was thinking about removing the sock before but wasn't really sure what to do after that.

well it depends on if you can connect pvc to the part where the sock is, if so you can extended it and put like a 45 elbow on there to direct flow so your sand doesn't get blown around. There are many ways to "rig" it to make it work so I wouldn't think too much about it till you get it and see what you can do.

If you just add a short divider just right of the sock it will keep the sand in place and you can leave the sock as is. just a idea

when you do get it, post pics of it and the black part where the hose connects so we can figure somethin out for you. do you know the dimensions of that first chamber where the filter sock is?
