Is there any possible way of making a sump work without having holes drilled in the bottom of the tank? I have a Hex that is currently set up and it is a glass tank and having holes drilled is not really an option.
I have a 60G hex tank and I use a HOB overflow kit. One side with a collection cup like thing sits on the inside of the tank and then another part hangs on the back where the water will go down to the sump. A U-Tube carries the water from inside the tank to the outside. Just be careful and by a style that is like the Lifereef system. This works great because the siphon is pretty bulletproof. So if you power goes off you dont have a big water mess. Still requires a weekly maintenance check to make sure no extra big air bubbles get caught though. But that is no big deal. The setup I got was pretty easy to install too. I am not a do it yourselfer and I got it done if that tells you anything.

Use an overflow box. Here are some saltwaterfish threads to get started: https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/172634/marine-tank-plumbing
There are a few other plumbing resources in there as well.
A good overflow box is the CPR brand. just make sure you use it with an aqualifter air pump. The overflow box itself is a little pricier than some, but you get sleep at night knowing your siphon wont break.
