This is my first thread so nice to meet you guys and gals.
I am looking to start up a FOWLR 150-180 gallon aggressive tank and was thinking about going sumpless for a few reasons. First I will tell you a little about my previous experience. My first tank was a 90 gallon that I bought with the intentions of building a predator tank. First specimen was a snowflake that imediatly went into my overflow and sustained injuries that ended up being fatal while getting him out. After that, I built a reef tank instead. Enjoyed this tank for several years.
After an out of state move, I no longer have my 90 and want my predator tank. Was considering going sumpless for the simplicity and to reduce evaporation (I hate topping off water). I also spent many a afternoon netting brave fish that jumped into my previous overflow. When I covered it with eggcrate, I lost 2 psuedos that landed on top and roasted under the lights.
Equipment plans include a larger canister filter and 2 Remora Pro's with mag 3 pumps. Please critique away.
