Sun Coral 911

I bought my sun coral back in december. Amazing, and tough to deal with, but I thought I was up to the task.
"Water - excellent, chemistry-excellent, ph - excellent" "spot feed weekly" Got it.
Unfortunately, this is not the whole story. Anyone who owns these Knows that the only time that you see the full glory of the polyps is when you feed them. I like to feed mine. 2wice weekly is not an effort.
Why is it dying?
The specimine that I bought had about 20 polyps, now I have 3-5 that feed (every time I feed it) .
Does anyone have an Idea? I will set up a sun coral only tank if I can get this thing to live (point of pride). What does it need that I am not giving it....other than darkness...is light detrimental to it?

I put mine right out in front of my rock work. Lights have no effect on the coral at all. It was to much work to feed the thing in a cave or shaded from the light. I feed mine mysis every night, its been doing nicely.

I also heard that the lighting had no effect on the coral, but I was worried that I had heard wrong. Accordingly, mine is in the front where it can be fed easily and often.
I have been feeding cyclopeeze in a 2liter bottle. Perhaps, if I feed more often, it may help.
Thanks guys!

Had mine over a year close to top of tank under 440 watts of VHO. They fully open each evening and are spreading and multiplying.
While it is true that they are not a photosynthetic coral, it is also a fact that light will not harm them.

I just came from the LFS where I bought it and asked them what they thought. They feed theirs twice weekly and have it in a cave,
She said that high light will harm them...but I'm not so sure. I think that mine may need to be fed more. I'll let you know
