Sun polyps don't mind the sun at all. As soon as feeding time starts, they come out. If I had to wait until dark to feed them, I'd never get to enjoy looking at them. I usually feed around 1-2pm when my halides have already been on for a few hours. They don't mind sunlight although many people put them under a shelf rock....

here it is eating, i just wait till it's open to feed it then i use a turkey baster and it catched 95% of the food, the hermits pic up the rest.
