Lol, no, not nearly as pretty when closed. But it is still a bright orange rock. Still better than alot of other corals are open, imo. Ill try to get a pic of it closed up to show you a before and after. Mine are open like the pic from about 7 pm to 7am. Luckily, im up late so i get a good 5-6 hours when i can stare at him.

Mine isnt usually open during the day. He starts to open around 6pm and stays open til morning. I read somewhere they can be "trained" to open if on a regular feeding routine. I'd definitely say this is true. I feed mine every day and he starts to open every day at the same time based on when i feed him. If i started feeding him earlier, every day, im sure hed start to open earlie.r

Very true, they can be "trained" to open at a certain time for feeding, but they usually only stay out at night.
