Yea they can be trained to come out during the day, as long as youre very consistent about the feeding schedule. Mine almost always come out right at 8.
I have found that it really helps with suns who are hurting (or healthy ones for that matter) to put a little dp oyster eggs in about half an hour before feeding. They will open up and then it is easy to feed them you meaty foods. hope this helps..

pics some time this week, the thing's been growing tissue like mad lately. its looking really good.

nope they dont need any special lighting (in fact, less is better). theyre nonphotosynthetic. but you do need to feed them a lot.

my sun coral has grown a new polyp! this is the first new one since i got it. pics when i get my camera back.
EDIT// make that at least 3
new polyps, could be 5, not sure about the other 2
