super glue donts

dont superglue things without gloves: nothing like having a frag plug glued to your finger or a rock. (been there)
Dont try to unplug the superglue tip by biting it.... unless you dont plan on speaking or eating for a while (yes I have done this too and it hurt like hell to pry my lips apart)
dont leave super glue laying around if you have dogs and cats. its not only dangerous to them if they should chew or play with it but if you step on it it makes one heck of a mess on the floor, (dont ask, no animals were hurt)
dont use super glue accelerator unless you are really fast. because it is even if your not.
I'm sure there are more but most fall into the dont glue yourself to (whatever) category.

How about a reminder that "it floats".
If you use it in your tank, wedge the tip securely where you want the glue to go. If it doesn't connect with a surface, it will float. Usually resulting in some fish trying to eat it.

Oh and... if it does get on your skin, acetone ie. nail polish remover, will dissolve it.

Nice to feel there are "others" out there like me. I too got a mouthful of super glue once. Got sick for a day from it too. Had to call the Poison Control Hotline who told me nothing in there should be making me sick. I definitely created my own cavity feelings though. I don't know, maybe it was in my head, but my toilet didn't think so.

I havnet had the experience with super glue in fragging. But building model airplanes for the better part of 8 years, I agree with the above 100%. I have found superglue in places that to this day have no idea how it got there. Ears, nose (OUCH)... etc etc...

remember if your gluing frags and some gets on your hand/finger don't go and scratch head, eye brows or anything else that has hair. Its dries real fast for some reason on hair.

Yup done that
Since then I have nothing but sympathy for the girls who torture themselves with hair waxing.
Never bit the tip yet
Yup… stepped on it. 230lbs coming down on a new bottle, man that stuff can shoot far for supper thick gel. Especially when your new cherry hardwood floors just got finished.
Do I have to tell you how a pointed tip high heel feel in the butt from a women who is not happy? 250 dollar lesson

Accelerator….. Yeah picture a circus monkey chasing a lawn sprinkler back in forth

BTW, what happened to that idiot that super-glued himself to the toilet at Home Depot, then filed a lawsuit? Larry the Cable Guy had a picnic with that.

I once superglued my shirt to my chest hair. Didn't realize it until I went to take off my shirt.
My wife laughed so hard she could hardly breathe.

dont hold you fingers together while superglueing something. chances are that you have some on your finger. (yup, been there, done that. didnt even realize it till i tried to pull them apart. lol)

What kind of super glue is best for frags and such. Can you use them underwater?
any gel super glue (it will say caution contains cyanoacrylate on the back) is fine except "gorrila glue" brand it has rubberization compounds in it that I dont know if are reef safe.
you can use them under water but its a lot trickier. it takes a little praxctice. you have to put some on the rock your glueing to and put some on the frag then push the two glue spots together.
