Thought I would list my lighting for my 90g for people who don't want high electric bills, run a chiller,or spend tons on lights. This will not support hard corals but works great for my various leathers, mushrooms, star corral, bubble corals, and colt corral. I went with lower light to slow corral growth but the corrals are growing like crazy still.
2-65W 10K PC
1-40W actinic NO
1-40W 10k NO
Hope this saves some people some money

Cool, that makes me feel better. I can't afford the big lights now, so I a building a hood to squeeze 2 40 watt antics 03 and 4 10K 40 watt coral lifes in over a 55 gal long.

reef geek.com has killer deals on Power compacts. You will save alot with 2-65W 10k power compacts and 1-40 watt 03 actinic. I would check their prices before you buy all of those bulbs.

There are a lot of reef tanks that are ran just on NO lights. It's what you put it in that makes it ok or not. In my opion, a soft coral reef tank is just as good looking as one with mix corals. Plus they are easier to take care of.

Its good to hear info like that. I thought I was goin to spend more $$ on the lights then I did on the tank.
