I got a coralife super skimmer today for christmas and set it up earlier, anyone who has one, do i need to let it "break in" for 24 hours and what is the difference between wet and dry skimming?

well not sure what you mean by "break it in", but I started mine right up after I got it. Dry skimming is when you set the skimmer so it doesnt pull out alot of water, and wet skimming is when you let it pull out more water. The super skimmer has been set up on my tank for 3 days and Ive already had to dump it twice...thats wet skimming. They are great skimmers!

also its not producing any bubbles at this point, if i open the valve up to 100% it makes a lot of bubble but at 50% no bubbles and it says to have it at 50% till its broken in. what do i do??

What model did you get? The bubbles are formed in the pump and are always there. The only thing the valve does is control the height of the water.

I never purposely did a break in on either of mine. I set the pump flow to open full and adjusted the water level to be between the red screw-on ring and the bottom of the cup funnel. It did its thing right away producing foam (wet) at first and then dryer muck as time went by.

No it didn't. It worked well but I did get more than my fair share of micro bubbles. I now have a new set up for the difuser and I am extremely pleased. I used the mag pre filter I read up on here.
