Hey guys,
If I am looking to promote coraline growth on my rocks, but the tank doesn't currently have corals in it, is there any way for me to use additives without negative effects?
Example: Kalkwasser or Calcium. Should I stay away from dosing these things before the corals are around?

chemicals aside, honestly the best thing that worked for me was sticking a really heavily covered in corraline rock near my return pump in my refugium--high flow over the rock and high rate of lil corraline algae microbits being blown all over the tank. :)

I have had the best luck with Kalk. I have tried other products but in my exprience, Kalk has proven to be the best way to promote coraline growth.
That being said, with nothing in the tank to use up calcium other than the algea, dose carefully.
